Coord with me

Coordinate Handmade | Bag, Shoes and Sunglasses Primark | Necklace New Look (old)

The sun was shining so I popped on my super comfy and super sunny coordinate and dragged my brother away from the football to snap some photos. After perusing the high street and a heck of a lot of online stores I found myself lost in a sea of coords not knowing which to choose and whether I really liked any of them anyway. So, instead I headed to my little fabric shop in town and after spending about half an hour finding the perfect print started on making my own. I've always been pretty handy with a sewing machine - you won't find me on The Sewing Bee anytime soon mind you - after taking textiles at both GCSE and A-Level and wanted to create my own unique coord. Which I think I've achieved!

If you're thinking of making your own two-piece then trust me it's easier than you think, I didn't even use a pattern for the shorts. I found an old pair and used my noggin to draw out my own pattern and work out what to stitch where, it's really not hard at all. For the top I found a great pattern simply by chance while flicking through instagram one day - this one is from CH&CO who are a sort of do it yourself blog, really handy to have a look at from time to time. I love my coord and for this look decided to accompany it with a lot of Primark accessories - it was an accident but they all went so well with it. I love my white backpack in particular.

Hope you love it to and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions about making your own.

Keep up to date with me via

  4. You did a divine job. This co-ord is spot on. I adore the fabric. The crop is cropped just enough & the shorts are long enough. :] // itsCarmen.com ☼
