On Saturday I got to spend the day delving deep into a vintage treasure trove with my two best friends from university who I hadn't seen in almost a year. LouLou's Vintage Fair is the largest fair in  the UK reaching 42 cities from Southampton to London and Sheffield to Glasgow - being named 'Best Vintage Fair' in 2013 and 2014 also means you're getting some good quality retro products. I set off bright and early to my nearest city, Bristol to visit the fair last weekend and was so glad I made the trip. It was bitterly cold so a well deserved cup of tea and yummy chocolate cake was on the cards when my friends and I arrived in the morning. We then spent the next couple of hours (yup, the fair is really that huge) getting completely absorbed into the history of some of pieces of clothing and nik naks on offer - I was in vintage camera heaven!

I told myself I was NOT to buy anymore jumpers and coats - this was a struggle as that was the vast majority of what was on sale but in the end I stuck to my guns and picked up a pair of vintage Levi's shorts for a mere £10, a new (but old, obviously) headscarf to add to my collection and yet another pair of sunglasses. The atmosphere was amazing! In one corner there were people with rollers in their hair being styled with different era's in mind and the other a live band playing some old classics, from old Elle magazines and dress patterns there really was something for everyone. A top tip I would give to those of you who haven't been to a fair like this before - go with a list! If you go there completely oblivious to what you actually want then you will end up spending a fortune. Everything I saw was of such lovely quality and had obviously been loved with care by it's previous owners.

I've been to LouLou's Vintage Fair before this time and I will definitely we going again, everyone's so friendly and the cake and tea on vintage crockery was a serious bonus!

Keep up to date with me via:

  2. I love all things Vintage so this fair looks like it would be so cool! The jacket there looks like something celebrities would wear and I know a friend who would love it as well. I am glad you had fun there :)
