A couple of weekends ago my family and I headed down to Sennen Cove in Cornwall for a little extended weekend away lapping up some much-needed sunshine. We stayed in this (horrific but quaint, shall we say) little caravan just a mile away from Lands End and with a fish n chips shop up the road…could it be more Cornwall? When we got there on the Friday, we quickly unpacked and explored the pretty beach at Sennen and took a look at some of the shops then rested on a rock to enjoy a traditional Cornish ice-cream – if you're ever visiting, try the caramel honeycomb, oh my! We headed back to our caravan, ate fish n chips and took a walk down to Lands End passing horses and millions of little bunnies in the fields along the way finally making it to the iconic signpost and the First and Last House.

Saturday was probably my favourite day as we got to drive to a couple of different beaches, Penzance wasn't that great apart from the amazing vintage store that I want to live in! But, St Ives, where we also visited was lovely! Filled with little stores and trinket shops it was nice to have a wander through the town and look at the amazingly clear water and boats docked there. Sunday was relax – and get severely burnt – day back on Sennen Cove beach, we took a picnic and set ourselves up for a few hours of doing absolutely nothing there, then ended up back there for dinner looking out at the sea. Monday rolled around pretty darn fast and it was time to head home with red faces and probably bed bugs from the old mattresses in the caravan, a true family holiday!
