Various lipsticks from Rimmel, Primark, The Body Shop and Topshop | Elle magazine

It took my a while to get into the whole lipstick thing, by which I mean it's only been in the past couple of years that I've actually started buying and wearing it. I also think a lot of brands are ridiculously overpriced for what the product actually is – even if it's 'long lasting' it doesn't last that long! Nevertheless, I've succumbed to a few pretty lipsticks recently and thought I'd share them all with y'all…I'm also definitely NOT a beauty blogger so apologies if the next paragraph is a load of old rubbish!

My favourite brand at the moment seems to be Rimmel, in particular the Kate Moss collection. I love the vibrant colours, especially the pastel pink one and think they stay on the lips really well (not long, but well). I think as a whole I seem to prefer matte lipsticks as I'm always a bit conscious as to whether I have lipstick on my teeth and more often than not if I'm wearing a shiny-finished lip then the 'lipstick on the tooth' moment occurs a lot more. I live in a small(ish) town so my Topshop isn't all that spectacular however I was browsing online one night in search of a new matte, dark lipstick and came across Toyshop's collection et voila! I then owned my first Topshop lippy! I really love love love the colour of it, as I have brown hair I love balancing that out with a dark lip sometimes and this shade seems to work really well for that. Other brands I'm liking are The Body Shop and even Primark, who's beauty collection stills astounds – it's THAT cheap but still amazing?! Go Primark!

Hope you've enjoyed taking a look at my little collection, see you Friday for an outfit of the day, of course!

  1. Ahh I tend to steer clear of matte lipsticks as they are too drying on my lips :(

  3. Rimmel do some fab drugstore lipsticks, especially in the Kate Moss range. Totally agree there. #107 is such a firm favourite of mine.

  5. I love Topshop makeup, their lipsticks are to die for! Revlon make beautiful lip products too, even if they can be a little pricier in terms of drugstore brands, they're well worth it! Would highly recommend their Just Bitten Balm Stains :)
