From the unique way of serving food and 'Instagram-worthy' decor to the delicious cocktails and well-designed menus, The Botanist restaurant is a fun lunch or dinner destination for a weekend away. My mum and I went to Birmingham to see Jeff Lynn's ELO (Google them and thank me later) and we had a bit of time before we could check into our hotel, plus it was lunchtime so finding somewhere to eat was necessary! Walking in you're greeted with the warmest welcome and shown to your table, offered menus and left to peruse the vast amount of food and drink on offer. As it was a weekend away and it was quite warm mum and I opted for a refreshingly fruit cocktail - I chose a yummy Strawberry Mojito and mum a cooling Blackberry and Rosemary Fizz.

Then it was on to trying to pick a main meal, I had already done a little bit of research about The Botanist while we were on our two-hour train ride so knew I wanted to give the meat kebabs a go. I know what you're think, 'really? A kebab?' and, well yes! A kebab is what both me and my mum went for, mine chicken and hers lamb - and we really were not disappointed. It's the poshest kebab I'd ever seen and with sweet potato fries, roasted peppers and onions to accompany it plus a delicious garlic sauce that you drizzle over your kebab everything was perfect! Like I already said, we were away for a weekend and, when away on a weekend you often eat too much and really indulge - so it was on to dessert! Mum quite clearly was fascinated by the kebab thing as she went for the 'Rocky Road Kebab' dessert version and had a great time, while I decided a 'Baked Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough' that featured dreamy salted caramel sauce and toffee ice-cream. Yum!
