When it comes to afternoon tea, there isn't much I don't like about it - apart from the fact that I eat far too much so feel bloated afterwards. Aside from that, afternoon tea is pretty great and quintessentially British - especially this afternoon tea I booked for my mum and I to enjoy a couple of weeks ago. As some of you may or may not know I now live in London and work for Wowcher, I saw this deal pop up on the website and thought it would be perfect for me and my mum, both huge tennis fans! That's right, this particular afternoon tea is Wimbledon themed making the food and atmosphere even more British! We stepped off of Charing Cross station and into the super magnificent Amba Hotel right in the heart of busy London and made our way to The Terrace where they serve all the food and teas.

With this particular afternoon tea we got to enjoy a yummy, refreshing glass of Pimms as well, while tea and Pimms is a bit of an odd combination I wasn't complaining... After sipping on our Pimms (and trying to make them last as long as possible) we were served one of the most exciting platters of sandwiches and cakes I'd ever seen. Salmon and cream cheese, eggs, cheese and chutney were just some of the savoury snacks on offer, then the next plate gave us small scones with clotted cream and jam. The piece de resistance came in the form of little biscuits and cakes on the top plate - all in various shapes and colours that resembled Wimbledon. From strawberries and cream tarts to racket biscuits and tennis ball macarons, we polished off every last pastry and cake! I definitely recommend the Amba Hotel and this delicious afternoon tea that's on until 31st July...go, go go!
